Getting started

Book a first lesson or workshop, then you're placed in a class.

To join Arundel Pilates you will need to attend either a beginners workshop or one private lesson. Then you'll be placed in a class appropriate for your level. Everyone is required to complete a registration form.

  1. Step 1

    Choose your way in

A 1 hour private lesson, £55 — or a duet, two people for one hour, £80. Or a group 3 hour workshop, £50, max 12 in a group.

  2. Step 2

Carole places you in a class

She has to see you first to assess what level is suitable. Most people start with Level 1. Chair and Standing is there for those who find it difficult to get up and down from the floor.

  3. Step 3

    Join a six-week block

Classes run in six-week blocks, £78. At the start of each six weeks you'll be given a lesson plan with approximately 30 exercises.

Booking, in the full build

This preview doesn't take bookings and shows no calendar. On the finished site, registration and booking happen online: you'd complete the registration form on the page instead of downloading it and emailing it back, pick a first private lesson or the next workshop, and pay for your six-week block in advance. Until then, Carole takes bookings by phone and email.

My approach

Carole's approach

"At the start of each class I always say 'and how are all the bodies today, anything new to report?'" Carole Barker
My aim
To equip you with good movement skills for life.
What you will gain
Awareness of your alignment, breath and deep postural muscles. This enables you to strengthen your whole body, achieving perfect balance between flexibility and strength.
  • "I do not adhere to that dreadful cliché 'no pain, no gain'."
  • "I'm not a slave driver!"
  • "Ultimately Pilates could help you to enjoy your life to the full, be able to participate in any sport of your choice and keep a strong functioning body well into your eighties."
  • "When I first started teaching pilates 25 years ago, eek (!) there were only three providers who taught the pilates method…"
